Fortunately, we live in a society where life expectancy has gradually increased. Thus, in the last decade there has been an increase of approximately 25% of people over 65 years of age residing in senior centers. This fact entails facing new challenges such as the care of this population range due to the high occupancy that will exist in the near future in homes for the elderly.
The talk will describe the ACTIVA project, whose title is 'Intelligent decision system based on the recognition of activities in the operational environment of aging' funded by the State Program for R & D + i Oriented to the Challenges of Society, in the category of "Health, demographic change and welfare" being carried out by the University of Jaen and led by the speaker.
El Proyecto ACTIVA apunta al ejercicio físico adaptado para un envejecimiento saludable. En particular, se expondrá el modelo de investigación basado en inteligencia artificial (dentro del proyecto ACTIVA) para el reconocimiento e identificación de las actividades físicas que llevan a cabo personas mayores dentro del entorno físico de residencias o casas de día a través de los datos que reportan sensores que se ubican en el ambiente en el cual desarrollan sus ejercicios y actividades cotidianas, con la finalidad de detectar las anomalías y retroalimentar así la mejora de los planes de ejercicios saludables. Actualmente, se están ultimando los detalles para instalar el sistema en la residencia de personas mayores de situada en la provincia de Jaén durante el verano europeo 2021.
