Webinar: ACTIVA

Fortunately, we live in a society where life expectancy has gradually increased. Thus, in the last decade there has been an increase of approximately 25% of people over 65 years of age residing in senior centers. This fact entails facing new challenges such as the care of this population range due to the high occupancy that will exist in the near future in homes for the elderly.

The talk will describe the ACTIVA project, whose title is 'Intelligent decision system based on the recognition of activities in the operational environment of aging' funded by the State Program for R & D + i Oriented to the Challenges of Society, in the category of "Health, demographic change and welfare" being carried out by the University of Jaen and led by the speaker.

The ACTIVA Project aims at adapted physical exercise for healthy aging. In particular, the research model based on artificial intelligence (within the ACTIVA project) will be presented for the recognition and identification of physical activities carried out by elderly people within the physical environment of residences or day care centers through the data reported by sensors located in the environment in which they carry out their daily exercises and activities, in order to detect anomalies and thus provide feedback for the improvement of healthy exercise plans. Details are currently being finalized to install the system in the residence for the elderly located in the province of Jaén during the European summer of 2021.

Realization date: 14-07-2021.
